John is a Scottish composer of hymns and praise songs with a contemporary and Celtic style. A self taught guitarist and church organist, John has been playing and composing for over 40 years. He is currently worship leader in an inner city Church of Scotland. He is married with three kids and numerous grandchildren. His musical influences include The Beatles, the Shadows, The Monkees (not the Arctic variety), Gordon Lightfoot and Leonard Cohen. In days gone by he earned a crust playing in bars and restaurants in his native Scotland. Guitar sales, building and repairing have also played their part.
