Portrait of YoungbloodRocks
Youngblood is a band first formed by their drummer, Atul Shastry. The band was originally consisted of just 3 members. The three members were originally Lead Guitarist Isaac Stephens (10), Bassist Jared Gravenor (14) and my self Atul Shastry (15). The addition of Lead Singer, Bronson Bush is what helped the band get noticed. Originally it was set that Isaac would be the lead vocalist but he sings backup now for all of our songs and has lead parts on some of our selected songs. Gigs at first were steady and we were just getting our name out there as well as gaining experience. The first 2 months were hectic playing gig after gig but we learned about each other and soon became like brothers. In Mid November of 2007 our bassist, was kicked out because of not being able to learn our songs as quickly as we wanted him to and because he started skipping practices. So we looked for a new bassist and eventually after a week we found one. Right away we knew he was the right choice because he demonstrated outstanding capability to learn our songs in just a small hour. He is a very accomplished musician and we quickly accepted him. His name is Levi Ausmus (15). Our band finally found our missing element and we were ready to take on the world and show everyone who we are and to prove to people that because you are young doesn’t mean you cannot accomplish your dreams. Summer rolled along and we were busier more than ever playing gigs everywhere. Our highlight gigs were when we got to go to Nashville and be on a show called Nashville Spotlight. That experience was a great one, we learned more and had accomplished more than a normal band would in 2 years and we accomplished all of that in 9 months. Another highlight gig is when we played in Columbus for The Pumpkin Festival we played in front of crowds as big as 40,000 people. This was my favorite gig because of the atmosphere it was truly the atmosphere my bandmates and I had been seeking. Of course we had a realization, if we wanted this kind of atmosphere then we need to play bigger venues and we also needed to get signed by a record label. The transition from covers to originals began and we are working on our first album as we speak. The expected release date is before Spring 2009 and we are looking for a label to sign us so we can begin touring. Our dream is to just make this our jobs we all have a passion for music and we all thirst for the big crowds and just playing music in general. We all think of each other as brothers and our friendships we have and our knowing of each others tendencies is what I think makes us strong as a band and we will keep our dream alive no matter who or what tries to break it and this dream is to get signed and start touring around the U.S.
