Judge for Rick Howell

I was born in and spent most of my life in and around Wilmington, NC. What began with a fascination with the Beatles and taking a few guitar lessons resulted in playing bass for going on 40 years. The styles included everything from Top 40,pop, country, and bluegrass, to blues, jazz, and disco in bands ranging from duos to 8 piece orchestras
Currently I have been trying to become more proficient on other instruments (eg. guitar, mandolin, dobro, harmonica, keyboard). By becoming more versatile, it has enabled me to do more recording of original material which in turn led me to this web site
Some of my greatest influences as musicians and/or songwriters are Lennon McCartney, George Harrison, Jon Anderson of Yes, Eric Clapton, Chris Squire, and John Entwhistle. I have been trying recently to find another musician interested in forming a duo to do covers & originals. A former bandmate and I have been scouting for gigs and just recently (June 21st) performed at the Fox and Hound in Wilmington. Hopefully I will have more upcoming gigs to report on soon.
