Chalk Dinosaur is an indie-rock band from Pittsburgh that formed in the spring of 2008. They've steadily been playing shows in Pittsburgh, but due to college, haven't been able to tour yet. They've had the pleasure of sharing the stage with such bands as: Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Starfucker, One For The Team, and Farewell Flight.
Chalk Dinosaur's music could be described as melodic honest rock influenced by the likes of Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, Someone Still Loves You Boris Yeltsin, Beatles, Pixies, Of Montreal, and Cake to name a few.
Chalk Dinosaur's self titled album, their first, will be available on iTunes, CD Baby, and Amazon by Thanksgiving. It was self recorded and produced by the band, and mastered by Roger Seibel, who has mastered several of their favorite records from Modest Mouse, Death Cab for Cutie, and Built to Spill.
