About the Artist

Country legend Claude Gray is a performer, recording artist, singer, songwriter and guitarist who continues to tour and record new material. He is best known for the 1960 hit 'Family Bible,' a song which Gray purchased from songwriter Willie Nelson for $100 in 1962. Gray's hit single 'I'll Just Have Another Cup Of Coffee" was covered by reggae superstar Bob Marley, who reworked and titled the song as 'One Cup Of Coffee.'

Combining elements of country, jazz, blues, folk and rockabilly, Gray was a purveyor of the "Nashville sound," embracing the Countrypolitan movement, which emphasized pop-oriented singers in country music and attracted new audiences to the genre. Gray performed regularly on the Grande Ole Opry and has recorded a total of 21 albums and 53 singles.

Gray has toured and performed with the likes of Johnny Cash, George Jones, Dinah Washington, Jim Reeves, Buck Owens and Duke Ellington amongst numerous other artists.

Today, Gray is an independent recording artist and continues to tour with The Claude Gray Roadshow, performing concerts throughout North America and in parts of Europe, where classic country music is still very popular.
