I have been playing since the day I was born. Music has always been what I wanted to do to live. In the year 2000 I resigned from a very good job and followed my dream. I feel my greatiest accomplishment is raising 3 children and now have 8 wonderful grandchildren! My wife of almost 33 years has been my rock and without her I don't know where I would be. Doug found a comfortable niche among the many talented singer/ songwriters in Nashville playing a variety of acoustic venues, honing his songwriting skills and fusing folk, country, blues and pop influences into his own unique style. Honest direct lyrics that reveal life’s challenges, triumphs and tragedies became Doug’s strong suit. However, Doug does not always fit what may consider the “typical singer/songwriter” mold, given his comfort level when sharing the stage with the likes of Lee Oskar (War), Kimberly Dahme (Boston) and Jeff “Skunk” Baxter (The Doobie Brothers) or fronting his own popular blues band on festival stages.
