About the Artist
As early as age 5 a new rapper was born. The dedication and time put into his music is something he wants the world to see. Coming from a rough background of struggle Young Ray believes he has something to prove.Ray comes from a musical background, his grandfather being a musician and his late uncle being a rapper. Self-influenced, he picked up a fisher price microphone and revealed his talent. From then on, he knew exactly what he wanted to be in life.
Ray began writing songs at the age of ten, recording at 14 and producing at 18. Always ready to take his own lane he began doing self-production, which led to the release of his first album “R.A.Y. (Right Above You)” on March 23, 2011. Shortly after, Ray received an offer to be signed with Columbia Records. He didn’t feel that Columbia was a good fit for him so he declined. Ray is now ready to take over the world with his music and just continues to be ambitious and humble in hopes that more labels will notice him and give him a deal he deserves.
