Matt Manzo started writing songs at the age of 15, not so they could reach the stage or be a track on an album, but because they were a way to process life. Over 20 years, 4 states, a wife, 3 kids, and many bands, recordings, and performances, that has not changed. While growing up with his mother and sister in the beautiful countryside of Eau Claire, WI, Matt made the stage a second home. After learning to play the guitar and working out the art of creating songs, he took part in the local Eau Claire music scene, developing a style that felt both true to himself and openly accessible to his listeners.
With the loss of his sister during the production of Verge this past year, Matt’s music became, as it usually has in the past, a safe place to walk through the grief and untangle the confusion of loss.
