PlayThe Dancer

by Allie Farris

My teacher once told me a story about how she used to play at a jazz club called "Daddy-os" in Fort Worth in the 70's, and there would be a homeless man that would stand outside the window and dance to what she would play. The man's dancing was beautiful and graceful. My teacher brought him out food and drinks, and soon came to find out that the man had been a famous ballet dancer from Paris that had come to America and lost all his money on alcoholism.
