by River Jetty

Calafia came about during a past dry season when all of California was burning. I remember thinking how ironic it would be if we died by the flames. I have always thought that I'd 'go' by either the constant influence of smog on my lungs or of the result of some violent, gang happening. As in all of my songs, I have tried to juxtapose the sad or serious against the light hearted; the reggae rhythm helps the mood maintain a happy vibe regardless of lyrical content.

I hope y'all aware you just entered a sublime song into an original songwriting contest. It's unfortunate you guys the first real musicians with a tight I found on this thing in an hour of voting.
