...I've never been to amsterdam, but had a fantasy that I ran into an old lover ten years after the demise of our relationship... I clearly envisioned walking into a smoky pub and recognizing his face, discovering him tending bar there through the clouds of yellow haze from the low lights... after all that time... I wanted an accordian on the piece, and we even brought one in, but the producers canned it- they said he was out of tune... I loved it, but aquiesced and blew the harp instead...

Great song. Particularly like the vocals and the lyrics. It made my favorites. The harmonica works well, don't know how an accordian would sound with the song because it is perfect as it is.

thanks ed!! yeah, the harp turned out to be okay... but I still think the accordian would have brought more of an "old world" sound to it... which is more of the atmosphere I was trying to conjure up with the imagery... I wanted listeners to imagine the cobblestone streets, old, dark pubs and dingy yellow lamplight... and, derrrr... Dylan is the shiz!

Terese.... I like it. I read your motivation. What a brilliant mind you have. And my dear the producers were right. The harp was a good thing. It flavors it with alittle Dylan. Have you ever heard of him??? Der????(lol)
