About Dirty Birds Fly 4 ALS
Marietta, GA
One Note At A Time is a not for profit to benefit ALS research funding.
The inspiration to the development of the charity is the Batrano music project which includes Chris and Michael Batarno. Chris Batrano has been living with ALS for 14 yrs and at his advance stage, mostly paralyzed, he still has the will to express himself by composing music tracks. He composes instrumentation with a mouse using the one finger he’s able to move. One by one…. One note at a time… he composes music tracks that Michael works out the vocals for. The full CD will soon be release to sell to raise funding for ALS and MDA. One Note At A Time is the legacy of Chris Batrano and his amazing ability and quit less spirit. With every purchase made to the Falcons theme song we will get closer to a cure for ALS (Lou Gehrigs Disease)
What is ALS
Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), often referred to as "Lou Gehrig's Disease," is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and the spinal cord. Motor neurons reach from the brain to the spinal cord and from the spinal cord to the muscles throughout the body. The progressive degeneration of the motor neurons in ALS eventually leads to their death. When the motor neurons die, the ability of the brain to initiate and control muscle movement is lost. With voluntary muscle action progressively affected, patients in the later stages of the disease may become totally paralyzed.
