About CottonMouth
Princess Anne, MD
CottonMouth is an east coast jam band that has been gigging in the central coastal area for many years
Starting out more than 10 years ago with a largely blues oriented show, CottonMouth quickly earned a strong local following leading to a long run of very successful club gigs
After several years of gigging with this format, the band's evolution turned to a more jam-oriented show, which eventually lead to the original members disbanding
With this break, original founding members John Sullivan on guitar and vocals, and Thomas Sullivan, who changed instruments to become the bassist, began work on a CottonMouth show that included a much more diverse style.
At this point they added The Gator on slide guitar and vocals, adding the now familiar bluegrass feel to much of the new music. After honing this newgrass/funk/jam style, they enlisted drummer Buddy Ward to round out the sound
The new CottonMouth was an immediate hit! Quickly gathering back it's former momentum, the band is ready to take it's sound to a broader audience
So, with some recent member changes, a new style, and a high-energy show, Cottonmouth is preparing to launch it's live debut, recorded during the 2007 touring season, and available almost in it's entirety on ourtage.com as MP3
