Portrait of Cracked the Band

Cracked the Band

About Cracked the Band

Greenville, RI

Cracked the Band came together in 2002, when longtime friends Chad Nevola and Tom Gonnella stepped away from acoustic performances to begin work on original music described by critics as, “mature, emotional rock with a pop sensibility.”
Cracked the Band headlined at the Station Night Club between 2002 and 2003 until the infamous night of the fire that destroyed the club in February, 2003. Thereafter, the band entered the studio to begin work on its first CD. Enlisting John Souza as the band’s permanent drummer, and working alongside producer/engineer Russ Martin, the band emerged after 11 months with the LP "Open.
Music from Open has been described as “passionate yet cerebral,” “entertaining, melodic rock with purpose and direction,” and “a sprinkling of influence from Matchbox 20, Incubus, Muse, and other powerhouses of the post-grunge genre - a worthy disciple of Matchbox 20 with teeth.”
