About Felili
Dallas, TX
Felili was raised in the heartland of Texas. Dancing in Mexican Folk groups, studying the divas of MTV, listening to Nina Simone and observing the
madness of massive suburban malls these unlikely seeds yielded her unique style.
Singing from her earliest years, Felili studied vocal performance at the University of North Texas in Denton. After playing with bands in college Felili began to write her own music and play guitar at 22. she moved to Brooklyn, NY and continued to write and develop her style. Working with instrumentalist and producer, Zach Landreneau, Felili combines the emotion of break ups with astral adventures to arrive at a revelatory empathy.
The influence of her favorite artists can be heard in her first release The Moon. The album, as Felili puts it, “blends timeless pop music with contemporary nuances that keep it edgy and fresh.” Inspirations include Radiohead, Jeff Buckley, Nina Simone, Bjork and more. Felili’s belief that music equals freedom shines through in every song.
The Moon was independently released on February 16th. You can find more on Felili at felili.com.
