Houdini are a noisy alt-rock trio from London/Kent. Currently in the studio making an 4 song e.p. to follow the current hooky noise-rock single "Smokers Cough" and last year’s “What A Fire”. Two-thirds of Houdini also play in Hexicon and work as sound engineers, and so the band’s frenetic noise always spends a while straining at the leash before being let out again. Less a wall, more a freight-train of sound, Houdini’s early shows saw even the most appreciative audiences carefully take a few steps back once the feedback kicked in, checking their earlobes for trickles of blood. Behind the cacophony, the band have been quietly sculpting their sound from fast-moving slabs of granite, and current single “Smokers Cough” is a taste of what’s to come.
