About Leah West
Since releasing her debut album "Beyond Words" just last year in July 2009, Leah has had quite the ride! In the Fall of 2009, she headed up a very successful tv, radio, media and concert tour across Canada and US. Then in early 2010, Leah learned that one of her songs was stolen by some phony producers in Slovakia and illegally entered into Eurovision, a huge contest in Europe. The scandal got lots of media attention both here in North America, as well as in Europe. Leah won the battle and also gained lots of new fans around the globe for her hit song "Spring". Leah's songs can be heard all over the world including major retail chains like Macy's, on the radio and in the many iPods of her growing fan base!
Leah West is a Canadian-American Singer-Songwriter who grew up in New Jersey, near New York City. "It is a huge melting pot of culture and it was a great place to grow up and be surrounded by fabulous music and entertainment from all over the world." Leah moved to Canada in 2005 to immerse herself in the vibrant Canadian music scene. She travels extensively, but calls Kelowna, BC, Canada home.
Leah is a very prolific songwriter who writes all her own songs and is currently writing for her next album, as well as, several soundtracks. She has penned over 150 songs to date with songs in many genres. She is currently working with the very talented producer, Marty Rifkin, who has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Jewel, Tom Petty, Elton John, Shawn Mullins, Dwight Yoakam, Leanne Rimes, and Glen Campbell to name just a few.
Leah is also a trained dancer (Garden State Ballet), actor (Lee Strasberg NYC), and visual artist. She speaks English, Spanish and some French, and is able to legally work in the US, Canada, and Europe. She is a member of the Screen Actors Guild (SAG), the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists (AFTRA), and NACA.org.
