About LUCY WALSH
los angeles, CA
“I should’ve been born 300 years ago…”
Born in Santa Barbara, CA...straight into a musical family. For Lucy, “music simply had been the constant in my life, but I hardly thought it would be my career. I wanted to act. All I really knew was that I wanted an audience.” When she moved to Los Angeles at 18, music quickly showed itself to be her passion and career aspiration. Lucy is now signed with David Letterman’s new record label CE Music.
Lucy’s first job in 2001 was recording the 9/11 tribute song “Unsigned Artists For Unsung Heroes,” performed at Los Angeles famed El Rey Theatre. It was during this period that Lucy started writing her own songs, something she is passionate about.
By 2003, Lucy had signed her first development deal. Lucy took on singing and playing keys for friend Ashlee Simpson on her hugely successful “Autobiography International Tour.” They played impressive spots worldwide, including Top of the Pops in England, and the Orange Bowl halftime show. It was with this gig that Lucy became known to America, as she was featured prominently on Simpson’s MTV series The Ashlee Show.
Lucy was signed in 2004 to Island Records, where she recorded an album. Due to label shakeups, her album was not released and she left the label. However, her single “Crash” was the ‘Official Summer Song’ for the National Cheerleading Championships. That year Lucy also appeared in Five for Fighting’s music video for their hit single “100 Years.”
In 2007 Lucy was included on the Best Buy Christmas ‘Sweet Tracks’ along with Keith Urban, Train and Nick Lachey. 2008 brought Lucy back to television in another hit series, she starred on MTV’s “Rock The Cradle.” After singing Secondhand Serenade’s song ‘Fall For You’ on this TV show, Lucy appeared on the band’s record singing on their acoustic version of the song. And in 2009, Lucy was featured (along with Rooney) on Roy Orbison’s tribute album Under the Covers. In March of that year, Lucy headlined her own show at Austin Musical Festival SXSW.
This fall Lucy has been playing keys/singing for Jive's artist Ry Cuming on the Maroon 5 and Justin Nozuka tours.
Lucy has sung in front of the biggest names, including President Bill Clinton and Tiger Woods. She has already performed in front of huge crowds from singing the National Anthem at Dodgers Stadium to performing at Universal City Walks’ KIIS FM Summer Concert Series. Lucy has opened shows for classic bands including Tears for Fears and Pablo Cruise. Loving to play intimate shows as well, she often plays Los Angeles hotspots like Hotel Café and The Mint, and Nashville’s Blue Bar. She has over one million song plays on her MySpace page.
In her writing, Lucy has worked with some of the music industries biggest talents, including award-winning writers Liz Rose, Nathan Chapman, Chris Tompkins, J.R. Rotem and Evan Bogart, Tricky and Dream, Dave Stewart, Craig Wiseman and others. In addition to seeking out talented partners to work alongside, Lucy has studies classical piano, voice and music theory every day with private teacher Joel Ewing M.D.
Lucy’s influences vary from Sarah McLachlan to Mozart, and Enya to Loreena McKennitt.
Lucy is currently working with Producer Cheche Alara (Christina Aguilera, Colbie Caillat)
