About Orpheus

Waterford, Ireland

Orpheus originally formed under the name Cerberus in October of 2004 with members Paul Whelan, Dave Cleere, Anthony McFeely and Cormac McCoy. In 2005 there was a line-up change with Cormac McCoy leaving the band and John Everett stepping in to take over at the sticks. The band then decided to change their name to Orpheus and start writing fresh new material. After several more months, there was another line-up change in March 2006 with the band replacing Anthony McFeely on guitars with Tomás O'Shea. This is where it is believed the current style of music Orpheus are playing really started as all 4 members began to really gel together under similar influences. In July 2007 the first recordings were done in The Jute Factory Studios in Waterford, Ireland which can now be heard here on myspace. The band is currently writing new material for their first EP release and plan to go back into the studio to record in early 2008.
