About Raymond J.Harris
I started my musical journey in New Orleans, LA in 1991 at Gideon Christian Fellowship were I started as the first youth choir pianist and later becoming the director. I them became the pianist for the Praise & Worship team and Children's Choir.
I was hired by the New Orleans Recreation Department as a music instructor. I developed the Treme Community Gospel Choir and remained the music instructor for five consecutive years.
I attended the University of New Orleans where I studied vocal Music education with a minor in Piano. During my attendance at UNO, I became a pianist for the Heritage Ensemble and later that year, I was appointed director of the Ensemble.
In 1996, I founded the Crescent City Life Gospel choir, which performed at various conventions and functions in the city of New Orleans.
I felt the call of the Lord to join the Armed Services and in 1999 I was sent for Fort Jackson, SC where I organized and directed the first Basic Training Gospel Choir for my Battalion, " The Black Lions Gospel Choir".
I then furthered my musical career when I moved to Colorado springs, CO where I became Minister of Music for Lifting Up Jesus Church. During my years in the Military, I was sent to the Republic of Korea were the Lord opened the door for me to become Minister of Music of the Discom Gospel Chapel and Ministries througout South Korea.
In lieu of my many Minister of Music positions. I also conducted many workshops in the area of Praise and Worship, International Music, Vocal Music and Music Theory. I have also ministered alongside some well-accomplished performing artist such as, eight time Steller Award Winner, Ben Tankard and Evangelist Duranice Pace of the Anointed Pace Sisters.
I am also a song writer, composer and musical arranger. In 2006, I released My first CD entitled " A Worship Experience " This project has blessed many congregations and has dedicated listeners.
Today I enjoy ministring to various congregations. I pray you are blessed by the music of FREEDOM.
