About Satellite Tragedy

Maple Ridge, Canada

Band Bio:
Ridd Sorensen - Vocals, Guitars, Keys
Scott Davies - Percussion, Keys

Satellite Tragedy is guitar driven alternative rock with soaring melodic vocals and conceptual lyrics. Their first album, 'New Beautiful' is a sonically dynamic experience that will leave the listener excited for this band's future.

'New Beautiful' Album review by Stephanie Faye:
The term 'alternative' was originally used to classify bands that were an alternative choice to the schlock heard on mainstream radio and top 40 charts. Ironically, that term is now applied to pretty much any 'rock' band that followed the Nirvana era, e.g. anything played on mainstream rock radio.

Satellite Tragedy might be classified as alternative, but in this case they actually ARE alternative to the alternative. Chuck Klosterman might go so far as to call them Advanced. Sure, there are obvious Weezer, Radiohead and Deftones influences, but these are all thrown in the pot, infused with ambience, multi-layered instrumentation and vocals that set this band apart and render New Beautiful an incendiary experience.

Whatever the classification, Satellite are one of those bands you love to know before everyone else. They're the kind of band you almost want to just keep to yourself, fearing their inevitable climb up the popularity charts. You should do yourself a favor and invest in this album. While it's still an alternative to the alternative.
