About Short of the Sun
Green Brook, NJ
Short of the Sun has watched their symphonic footprint evolve from soft radio rock into a melting pool of metal, alternative, and soft sounds. While exploiting the contrast between distortion guitars and keyboards, the band has extended their melodic wingspan by inviting guest instrumentalists to add violin, flute, and banjo, seeking to dress each song with the type of sound it deserves. This drive to extend their music has pushed into other areas, as the group often displays various paintings and prints of digital works based on visualizing their music onto a canvas or paper. In these and other ways, Short of the Sun strives to live up to their own oft quoted categorizing of "philosophical rock".
