James E. Stringer a.k.a Siahlaw is a product of New Bedford MaA As an adolescent he honed his skills lyrically by rapping with his younger brother and engaging in freestyle battles around the local neighborhood. Siahlaw quickly gained respect and notoriety and as a result was called "Shynobi" for his ability to verbally cut his opponents down to size. Some of his influences include Run Dmc, Rakim, Nas, and Az. Siahlaw formed a group with fellow New Bedford native "Betrayl" and subsequently released a couple of albums under the name "Ikendyenow". Siahlaw and Betrayl decided to focus on their solo careers and in doing so helped Siahlaw put New Bedford on the map by performing in various venues that featured mega stars such as 50 Cent, Jadakiss and Mobb Deep. In a few short months Siahlaw would gain a regional buzz by releasing his first mix tape called "It's The Real Me Vol.1". His undeniable talent and stage presence as a rapper landed him a spot in The Source's Spit 16. Siahlaw continued to create music that culminated in "No More Mister Nice Guy" and the upcoming album "Mr. Untouchable: Songs In The Key Of White". "Mr. Untouchable" is a testament to the harsh reality of his life and showcases his ability to overcome any obstacle including a two year stint in prison. Siahlaw's main focus is to put New Bedford on the map as a prominent fixture in the rap community. Siahlaw has a passion for story telling and a hunger for success. He continues to strive for perfection amidst the chaotic world of the music industry and once the smoke clears, James E. Stringer will be the last man standing.
