About Tempestt Storm

Chicago, IL

Born and raised in Chicago, Tempestt Storm knew at an early age that radio was her calling. Putting cassette in her cassette player and interviewing her dolls, she began to realize that radio was her new best friend. In high school Tempestt got the opportunity to be heard on NPR’s Chicago Public Radio, where she discussed Hip Hop and Feminism, being behind the microphone, made Tempestt one-hundred percent sure she should pursue radio. That opportunity made her contact Chicago’s on-air personality Trey the Choklitjok who immediately took Tempestt under his wing and gave Tempestt the opportunity to be heard to all of Chicago. Trey also suggested she attend Columbia College Chicago for radio broadcasting.

During high school Tempestt started enrolling in Columbia’s radio classes to get ahead start. While at Columbia College Tempestt began writing for an website called, Tempestt put a personal spin on current events and interviewed local artists. Her writings sparked the attention of a program director who was starting an online radio station called, he immediately put Tempestt on the air where her famous phrase was created “Tempestt Storm causing chaos on the airwaves”. Soon she began another radio show at Columbia College Chicago which became a hit to Columbia College campusand all of downtown Chicago.

Tempestt realized not only did she like being on-air but behind the scenes as well. She started using her rolodex and building more contacts as she booked exclusive interviews to help make Tony Sco’s show number one in Barberton rating. One thing she stressed that was important was to have good web experience. Since in this day of age the internet is a great source to build contacts, and find breaking news stories. Tempestt has built a huge internet following using social networks such as myspace, face-book and twitter. Then Tempestt started working in New York for Sirius XM Radio, doing a weekly segment and building a stronger fan-base, She continues to book and conduct interviews with local and national celebrities.
