Meet TOKE. He may appear a bit nerdy, but this tall, lanky, tatted emcee representing Northern Colorado has a very edgy, unique style. “I credit everybody I grew up around for my wacky personality. I may come across as shy, but, once you get to know me, I am pretty far out there. When I first started doing music seriously a lot of people around me took me as a joke. It fueled my ambition and now I am like 'thanks bitches, for your passion to concentrate on me' and 'thanks bitches, for passing me by, because I am skinny',” giggles TOKE.  TOKE was given the name by his friends whom he started doing shows with in Denver in 2005. T.O.K.E. (Tomorrow Only Knows Elevation) The acronym is what you make it, but it isn’t entirely about blazing weed, TOKE says. “It’s about living higher tomorrow. Being more positive the next day and living for the moment because tomorrow only knows what will become of your actions, so represent your life by being a quality human being,” says TOKE. TOKE grew up listening to all types of music from classic rock, funk, soul, r&b and of course hip-hop. Hip-Hop is his priority in music. TOKE has always been fascinated with the culture and grew up accustomed to the lifestyle. He is the very first musician in his family although he was brought up around a wide variety of music. He had no training what so ever to become an emcee, he has always been passionate about writing, music and aiming to please everybody. “My voice really saves my ass. I used to get made fun of for my voice, but, like everything about me, I have grown to love myself as a person,” TOKE explains. His appearance is very hard to miss when he enters the stage. Standing at 6’5” with a lanky build, he is somewhat of a show stopper. You can’t help but to look up and ask yourself, “what’s this dude about to do?”  TOKE’s musical philosophy is staying true to his self and maintaining a hard working relationship with the art that he so much enjoys. He believes highly in motivation, ambition and treating his beloved music career as a full-time job, not a hobby. Music became his outlet to escape from being bullied in school constantly, the stresses of being a young man and the cruel world around him. He is inspired by all people and events that take place in day-to-day life. TOKE’s style in approaching his music as an emcee is powerful and diverse. He tends to captivate you with catchy words and then blasts on you with automatic rifle speed while clearly getting a point across. TOKE hopes to accomplish many albums, mixtapes and live concerts throughout the world. He already has eight underground album/mixtape release. His most recent work is titled "Stuck On Top Of An Elevator". It is based on how he feels about being underrated as an artist, meanwhile unworthy artists are getting recognition while TOKE is constantly evolving for the better and moving up. Some notable influences of TOKE’s range from his family (son, mom, dad, sister, grandparents, etc.) friends, and music moguls. “My late grandfather that passed a few years ago is a huge inspiration to me. Some of his last words to me before he passed were 'be positive. No matter what, you stay positive',” recites TOKE. Historic fact about TOKE is his other Grandfather on his dad’s side was the radar operator on both missions in the Atomic Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. TOKE bares the B-29 with the mushroom cloud tribute tattoo on his whole upper left arm. On an end note TOKE says, “What I want the world to know is everybody has something to say so listen. Even a seemingly ignorant person can have a genius philosophy. Don’t act too good for anybody’s advice or input. Everybody has the gift of music inside of them. Just not everybody can express it. This goes for communicating in general. So, listen and most definitely give the underground hip-hop scene a chance. We have something to say and music for you to live to.”
